Restaurant Manager Matteo Zappile leads the brigade of five carefully selected team members who, with the utmost professionalism, guide and accompany the guests of Il Pagliaccio on an interesting journey of the senses.
Since 2011, the winery has been headed by Matteo Zappile, today flanked by Luca Belleggia who, as a result of his curiosity and passion for this world, knows how to select labels from everywhere, focusing on really “new” and consolidated options.
The wine list now has 1300 different wines to accompany Chef Genovese’s dishes, and received the award for “Best menu of Bubbly in Italy” in 2014 by the guide in L’Espresso.
Originally from Tuscany and in love with the world of fine dining, she began her career path at a young age. She first worked at the Rosenwood di Castiglion del Bosco and then moved abroad, collaborating with Jason Atherton at Pollen Street Social in the United Kingdom and later Armani Hotel in the Arab Emirates. She is a professional sommelier and belongs to the Associazione Italiana Sommelier, and has also studied at WSET in London.
Today she belongs to the team of Il Pagliaccio, managing the restaurant side by side with Matteo Zappile.
Born in Marche in 1990, Luca has always worked in the tourism sector. After graduating with a degree in hospitality, he continued his education by attending a foreign language university, which led him to travel and work throughout Europe. In Burgundy he discovered the beauty and excitement of wine, sparking the flame of his future experiences. He is an AIS and WSET certified Sommelier*, and joined Il Pagliaccio’s team in 2016. In 2018, he was named “Best Sommelier in Lazio” by Mangia & Bevi.
